Ben is a Graduate Solicitor in the firm’s litigation team and works closely with Principals Michael Walker and Louise Denton, and the wider litigation team.
Ben assists the litigation team across a range of disciplines including criminal defence, employment law, civil litigation, dispute resolution, and family law. He regularly appears in the District Court and assists with legal research, drafting documents, and providing general legal support. Ben is available to provide advice on a range of matters from traffic and violence related offences, limited licence applications, and sentencing, through to firearms revocations and applications.
Ben began his legal studies at the University of Otago and continued to complete his degree at Victoria University of Wellington. Ben graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (majoring in Political Science and minoring in Māori Studies) in 2021 and has recently been admitted to the Bar.
Prior to joining TODD & WALKER Law, Ben worked for a professional regulatory body and undertook work experience with criminal defence barristers in Wellington and Auckland.
A local to the Central Otago area, Ben was born and raised in Cromwell, before boarding at Otago Boys’ High School, and then attending both Otago and Victoria Universities. Ben enjoys being back in the South where outside of work he spends his time exploring local eateries and wineries and enjoying the great outdoors.
