Sophie began her career in litigation at a top tier Auckland firm before moving to the Queenstown Lakes region to work at a general practice firm. Impressed by the forward-looking nature of Todd & Walker, combined with Graeme and Michael’s experience, track records and capabilities, Sophie chose to join the team in March 2018.
Based in our Wanaka office which Sophie helped set up, Sophie operates across the fields of property, commercial, employment, contractual relationship property and resource management law.
Sophie’s valuable experience in litigation means she always plans for the worst and takes a risk minimisation approach to all matters. She enjoys tackling complicated files, particularly when assisting clients who’ve found themselves in a tricky situation that isn’t their fault. She works hard to get positive results and forms trusting relationships with individuals and the community.
Before studying law, Sophie was a white-water rafting guide, undertaking multi-day guiding expeditions on grade five rivers around the world. She’s travelled and guided in Turkey, Morocco, Zambia and beyond, and still has a passion for travel and adventure.
She’s now settled in the Lake Hawea area where she enjoys mountain biking, skiing and yoga.
Sophie says she prides herself on “doing a really excellent job, and coming up with well-considered future proofed solutions for clients.”
