Graduate Solicitor - Property and Commercial

We have an exciting opportunity for a law graduate to join our growing property and commercial team as part of our 2025 graduate placement. Whether you have just completed your degree and professional legal studies or are about to, this is an opportunity to step into a role that offers ongoing mentoring, development and support as you embark on the first steps of your legal career.
About the role
You will be involved in all aspects of the firm’s property and commercial practice and will work on matters including residential conveyancing, contract reviews, financing, property subdivisions and commercial transactions.
You will also get the opportunity to assist with private client work including trusts, estate planning, wills and EPOAs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic and forward-thinking team. You will work alongside experienced property solicitors who are genuinely passionate about what they do and in helping you to develop in your legal career. We provide structured learning opportunities, an ongoing mentoring and buddy system, and support under supervision from experienced Senior Associates and Principals of the firm.
You will be provided with interesting and varied work across the property and commercial team to broaden your understanding and development in these practice areas, with opportunities for interaction with clients.
What we are looking for in a candidate
- A recent graduate who has completed their Professional legal studies, or a candidate who is looking to complete their Professional legal studies. We will consider applicants who would be available for a role in early 2026.
- We will also consider someone who may already be a New Zealand admitted solicitor with 1-2 years PQE in conveyancing or general practice, who is looking to continue their career in property and commercial law.
- Strong commercial acumen and a strong interest in commercial and property law.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the potential to build your client relationship skills.
- Someone who can work independently to deliver results and who also enjoys working closely with others as part of a supportive team.
- Someone with a confident, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to their work and a genuine interest in developing their practice in property and commercial law.
