Summer Clerkships
When: mid-November through to mid-February
Hours: Full-Time
Location: Queenstown or Wanaka
Summer Clerk Internship
A summer clerkship is open to law students who want to join the firm in summer, from mid-November to mid-February to gain practical insight into working life in a law firm.
What will I be doing
You will spend time in either our Queenstown or Wanaka office and will typically work through two rotations, one with our litigation team and the second with our property and commercial team.
As a summer clerk, you’ll be involved in real legal work — from research and drafting to attending client meetings and court proceedings. It’s a unique opportunity to see what life is really like working in law, build your network, and take the first step toward a successful legal career. We also encourage our summer clerks to attend professional networking and staff events over the time you are with the firm.
How to Apply
In order to express interest in a summer clerkship with the firm we ask you to tell us about what interests you in a summer clerkship with Todd & Walker Law and a career in law and help us learn more about you.
We ask that you send us a copy of your CV, university transcripts and a detailed covering letter. In your cover letter we are interested in hearing about your academic and non-academic achievements, areas of interest in the law, your work experiences, personal interests and what would make you a great summer clerk. Applications can be emailed to Louise Gill, on [email protected].
We encourage you to send this through in Autumn/Winter of the summer clerkship year.
Application and Interview Process
If we have a summer clerkship available and you are invited to an interview, we will be in touch via email or call where we will send you details of the summer clerkship programme and information about an interview and what to expect.
