On 13 October 2022, the Queenstown Lakes District Council publicly notified its proposed Inclusionary Zoning Plan Change. This proposal seeks to include in the District Plan a requirement for subdivision and development to include a financial contribution to Council of between 1 per cent and 5 per cent of the sale value of the new lots or buildings.
